Woke up at 1030pm and 12am thinking I've overslept. in the end, I really overslept when Jo called me at 5am. she was trapped inside her room because the lock was faulty. in the end the hotel technician came and had to bang it opened 4 times with his feet!!!
we headed off around 6am to the west xihai grand canyon. it was probably the best decision, since we finally managed to see some great scenery at least. probabaly the rain was not as heavy as the day before. occasionally the mist clear off for some view. we hiked about 6 hours today to reach Baiyun for our lunch. and then continued for another hour or so to the cablecar station. since we don't have time to track down (or maybe don't have the energy), we opted for the cablecar (80rmb) which took only 10min. then strolled down to the hot spring area to our hotel. basically there was nothing left to be done at the foot of the mountain except hotspring. we had dinner in the hotel, cleaned up, packed up and knocked down by 1030pm. me 15 minutes later to write this!
